Holly Fisher
I am a freelance senior audio producer and sound designer based in London with over 13 years experience in the podcast and radio industry. I have been freelance since 2022, working for Audible, The Guardian, The Telegraph, BBC Sounds, WeTransfer, Somesuch and plenty more.
Before that I was at Monocle Radio. I joined as a graduate in 2011 to help launch the station, and stayed for ten years working my way up to executive producer level. Notably, there I produced the flagship arts show Monocle on Culture, and was creative lead on commercial audio projects for clients such as Chanel, Rolex, Audi, KEF and the Government of Japan. I also ran live events and broadcasts all around the world, from Milan to Dakar to Miami.
My expertise lies in the world of culture and I still love working in this area; I have a music degree and a masters in radio production, and I spent the first ten years of my career as an arts programme producer. But I am versatile and actively pursue projects that allow me to learn more about the world, that strive to make positive change or that uncover thrilling new stories. I also jump at the chance to work on projects where I get to flex my creative sound design muscles.
I run training sessions in audio editing. I have taught at UCL, and work with media companies expanding into audio.
I sometimes write, and have interviewed musicians like David Byrne, and contributed to Monocle’s travel guide book series.
Here’s a short selection of some of my favourite things that I have both produced and sound designed:
1. The Last Bohemians: Angelyne (House of Hutch)
2. Call Bethel (The Telegraph)
3. The Power of Sound (Monocle Radio X KEF)
4. Why Women Grow: Manon Awst (independent)
